Throughout my career as a CFO, CEO, controller and advisor, I have seen capable leaders held back when their financial capacity has not kept pace with growing complexity. The answer is rarely to replace everything or impose a standard model. It is to understand what is already working, strengthen what is not and add the right expertise, capacity and systems where they will make the greatest difference.
